2018 Tuff Enuf 5K Obstacle Run

Watch out for the zombies in our fun 5K obstacle course at the Mariners' Museum Park in Newport News, VA.  The course will consist of challenging obstacles to test your physical abilities and spooky elements for a frightfully, family-friendly good time. Runners/walkers will cover a distance of approximately 3 miles.  Tires and walls, ropes and tunnels, inflatables and zombies...OH MY! First wave begins at 9:20am and every 4 minutes thereafter. All participants are encouraged to arrive at the main event field no later than 9:00am to cheer on those who are participating in our inaugural Buddy Run (for more details about the Buddy Run, please visit our website:! Waves are 20 runners each, with the last wave at 10:30am.  First come, first serve for start time. Be sure to wear a costume!  Each costumed runner will be eligible for one of many fantastic raffle prizes.  Please note that clothing may be damaged and will get dirty or wet while participaring in the obstacle course.  In an effort to keep the lines short and the ZOMBIES restless the day of the event, we will offer early packet pick-up on Friday, Oct. 19th at Destination Athlete from 4:00pm-8:00pm, as well as at the event site on Saturday, Oct. 20th starting at 8am.  Please note that this is not a timed event. Finisher medals will be awarded to participants. Event shirts are not guaranteed for those who register after October 12th.  If you have any questions, please contact us at or call (757) 223-7078.   Thank you for supporting Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads!   FAQs Is there a minimum age requirement to participate in the event? There is no minimum age requirement, and paricipants of all fitness levels are encouraged to join in the fun. However, children under the age of 8 must be supervised on the course at all times by a parent/guardian. Obstacles will be supervised by volunteers, but please note that runners/walkers participate at their own risk. Strollers are permitted, but we STRONGLY encourage starting no later than 10:00am in order to finish the course in a timely manner. Faster runners should position themselves at the front of each wave to avoid back-ups at the obstacles; walkers and joggers should position themselves at the back of each wave.   What are my parking options for the event? Parking is available at Warwick High School (51 Copeland Lane, Newport News, 23606). A crossing guard will be in place to ensure all participants are safely guided across Warwick Boulevard to the main event area.    What's the refund policy? We cannot provide refunds.
